Lauren Campbell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia with experience working in multiple settings with individuals and families who have experienced significant trauma and stress.
With a background in Psychology, she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and completed her Master’s of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has over 15 years of experience working with a mix of ages (children, adolescents, families, and adults). She has provided community based mental health services, parent education and support, outpatient therapy, club house management for adults with traumatic brain injuries, as well as school based mental health support.
Lauren uses a variety of therapeutic approaches treating each client individually and holistically, depending on each client’s needs. Specifically, Lauren uses person-centered approach that may incorporate trauma informed strategies, with a strengths-based approach in combination with an attachment based approach. Other modalities Lauren utilizes are theraplay techniques, relational, positive psychology, solution-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Life experiences, such as family of origin, are commonly explored to manage current symptoms and distressful patterning. Lauren teaches mindfulness practices to help bring compassion and presence to each moment. Lauren is a firm believer in creating a mutual respectful and trusting therapeutic relationship in order to support clients in reaching their goals.
